As time passes, we witness a lot of changes in the business world, and these changes are mostly reflected in marketing trends. It often happens because modern technology keeps evolving, and customers are met in the virtual space rather than in person.
So, in order to reach these customers and be up to speed about changing marketing techniques, business owners keep altering their marketing strategies from stale to trending ones.
Taking this fact into consideration, marketing expert, Jurgen Cautreels, decided to share his thoughts on the outdated marketing practices he will do without in 2023 and new ones that can be adopted instead. Not a lot of business owners take the initiative to adjust their marketing schemes, and this always hampers business growth and profit.
Since this is a matter of major concern, Jurgen Cautreels offers insights on the matter at hand from his years of experience. In this interview, the marketing expert explains business marketing from a wide angle while offering professional advice to both big and small business owners.
What were the marketing trends in 2022 that worked for you?
I combined paper and digital marketing techniques, but the latter was by far the most effective marketing scheme I adopted this business year. Well, it’s typical, considering it has been the leading marketing trend of the century.
All I had to do was build an attractive website, reach out to a wide audience and appeal to them with quality promotional content. It was budget-friendly, and luckily, it paid off because my websites gained more traffic, and my profits bounced higher than the expected profit margin.
In your opinion, which of those marketing practices do you consider outdated now?
If I were to be subjective on this matter, then I’d say paper marketing. I only went for paper advertisements to reach out to the customers that don’t have a presence on social media.
Postcards, catalogs, and paid ads in newspapers and magazines were the best ways of meeting the aged populace. But now magazines, newspapers, and paper ads have been digitized, and not a lot of people spend money on hard copies. So, there’s little to no use for it in years to come.
Are there new marketing practices you think would be most effective in 2023?
The way I see it, the road to success still points to digital marketing. We keep evolving digitally, so traditional marketing,g such as paper and video advertisements, is weak in gaining heavy traffic.
The likes of influencer marketing, content marketing, AI marketing, and SEO marketing will be just as effective as they are now.
What business marketing scheme can you advise new business owners to adopt in 2023?
For growing businesses, digital marketing practices will go a long way in building traffic. Paid ads, blog-post marketing, and marketing tools like Google My Business and Google AdWords will boost visibility and increase conversion rates. Therefore, I strongly advise them to explore all these marketing practices wisely.
Do you think email marketing will not be as effective in marketing strategies next year?
No, it will definitely be very useful. Email marketing is one of the most underrated yet simple and cost-effective marketing practices available. In addition to that, it is also a very effective sales funnel technique that can generate and maintain customers.
So, it goes without saying that email marketing will be one very effective and useful marketing practice for big and small businesses next year.
